Today marks the first blog post for the Totally Goated podcast under the Sports Speak umbrella. First and foremost I want to introduce myself. My name is Brett Hawn, host of the Totally Goated Podcast, Houston Texans writer, and avid sports fan. I also want to offer my written thanks to Eddie Kalegi, Tim Moore, and the entire Sports Speak team for welcoming my podcast into the fold. I truly believe this group holds loads of untapped potential and am grateful to play my part in it.
Most importantly, I want to thank the listeners and followers of the podcast for their continued support of the podcast itself. With your continued support, the motivation to produce content is at an all-time high, and without you guys, none of this would be possible.
I intend to bring weekly podcast episodes into the mix, ideally every Friday afternoon but will fluctuate depending on guest availability. Interviews and the inclusion of different perspectives are the backbone of this podcast and the true beauty of sports. The community and camaraderie that the platform offers are of great significance, and I want that to truly be felt in each episode release.
As for the sports blog, this is a concept that I am still relatively new to. Readers, I encourage you to offer feedback and suggestions on how to go about doing this. As of right now, the plan is to center the blog posts around the current topics addressed in the podcast itself, starting with next week's episode with WRSU's John Harnett, recapping the New York Jets offseason and dysfunctional 2023 campaign for the New York Mets.
